Zones & Chore Checklists
I also have the above list in a checklist format. Some of our children just want a list and some want a checklist. Now, for our experienced bathroom cleaners, they just have a list of the extra things to do -- they have the basics down.
There are lots and lots of ways to do Zones and Chore Checklists. I always start by going into the room in question with a clipboard and pencil. I write down everything that needs to be done in that room. I use that list to make my Chore Chart. Now, the things I put on that list vary depending on the age of the child who will be doing that particular chore. Below is a copy of a Bathroom Chore Chart I made when our bathroom chore child was just learning... I think he was six. Notice how specific and detailed it is?
For my children at a more intermediate level, their list looks something like this:

I hope you can see by these examples that there are lots of ways to make Chore Charts and Checklists. So much depends on the child and their skill level. It does take time to make out these lists and it takes a few trial runs to get them working smoothly, but it is so worth it! If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know! Dana!
